Good morning! As I set up my supplement box for the week, I read the details on my CoQ10 (Ubiquinol) bottle: 50mg, enhanced absorption, Ubiquinol is the reduced form of CoQ10, which is an important part of the cycle to produce energy. Could this be the answer to energy & zeal in life? Are there other benefits to CoQ10?
Coenzyme Q10 is produced in part, within the body, but also obtained from diet (fish being one of the highest sources). Aging itself is linked to low levels of CoQ10 in the human body. This great resource is needed to help produce a wealth of body functions for a healthy heart, brain, and metabolism/energy processing. What is the secret of this supplement? CoQ10 is crucial in supporting the electron transport chain within the mitochondria. Without getting too human-anatomy-termed, think of the mitochondria as the Hulk of your cells! It is often referred to as the 'powerhouse' of the cellular structure. Research has supported again and again that mitochondria health is directly linked to not only our cellular health, but also our longevity as a whole! CoQ10 is necessary for not only playing a role in the energy conversion in mitochondria (so it can utilize the nutrients to do its great work for the body), but also in protecting our cells from nasty free radicals! Free radicals are rebels (I picture them with bandanas and weapons), trying to harm our cells by stealing their components and inflicting oxidative stress. Too much damage from free radicals can either kill or mutate a cell (potentially causing cancer). Scary, I know! Good news, CoQ10 fights off free radical rebels!
In summary, this is a worthy supplement to consider. Why do I take it? Mainly for circulation promotion in general. The better one's blood movement, the better neurological and cardiovascular function! Stagnant blood is typically not a desired health trait. I'd like to keep writing, being sharp with my budget, skunking people at cribbage, and dancing with coordination for many years! How about you?
